Question for Citation owners
When removing the rockers in the steering, I've removed the two bolts and the plate that sits on top of the rocker but how do you get the rod out that the two roller bearing ride on?
I would like to pull the rockers off, check and repack the bearings but I would also like to figure out how it is done in the garage in case I ever need to do it at the track.
Help me before I grab a pair of ViceGrips, mar the hell out of the surface of the rod, and am never able to get the bearings on again. :D Thanks.

Formula Car Wheel Suppliers
I am looking to purchase another set of wheels for my Piper F1000 and was wondering if the forum members could point me to suppliers that they have had good luck with. Looks like there are not a lot of wheel manufactures interested in supplying custom 13 inch wheels these days. I have been working with Ryan Dettling at Jongbloed but he may not be able to supply what I need in the time frame required.

The Can Am owners have their own association. The same with the Trans Am guys, the F/5000 guys, the Indy car owners, and the F/1 owners who can run with the Masters HGP in the US. For much too long now, Formula Atlantic owners and drivers have been left out. Doc Bundy and I want all of the Formula B and Formula Atlantic owners to know that we now have an association for the benefit of us all. We have formed the Historic Atlantic Alliance.
The purpose of the organization is to improve communication among all of us and give us venues in which to race so that we will all be competitive and have a chance to win. Tony Parella has done a great job with SVRA but running with them, we must race against every kind of car with wings and slicks. We are outclassed in SVRA. But no longer.
We have a four race schedule for the remainder of 2015. Go to the website shown below for details. We are working on a fifth race to be a 'season finale' but it is not a done deal yet. We will start with only two classes for this season, F/B using the Lotus Twin Cam engine and F/A using the Cosworth BDD. This is the important part: Although all cars will be on track at the same time, YOU WILL ONLY RACE AGAINST OTHER CARS IN YOUR CLASS. Points will be awarded in each event and in each class for four series champions to be named at the conclusion of the season. Dulon MP1B FF for Sale
This 1974 Dulon MP-15B is a nice car that has been run regularly and maintained religiously. It is a good solid car that will give a new owner a lot of seat time without spending extra cash. The engine is from Jay Ivey and has several hours left on it. The head was freshened by Ivey only 6 hours ago. Some nice features of the car include a Tilton starter, a Jet Hot coated exhaust which was recently done, Fireball ignition, upholstered seat, AMB transponder and custom made string bars for alignment. High roll bar braces have been added just below the top of the body cowl section for additional rigidity and safety. It has a really large compliment of good, usable spares. See the list below. The car even comes with a quick jack. The owner of the car made sure that he had all the new spares that he might need ready at hand. They all go with the car. Hi Guys,
I have come across a 198...something Van Diemen ex Formula Mirage series in Japan. The serial # 051 and model #FG are stamped on an original VD ID plate but don't seem to give any real clue to the real model or year of production. Can anyone shed some light for me?

The organizing body has made some substantial changes to the race schedule for this weekend to accommodate the F1200/FV group. Excellent car count and a number of US drivers making the trip factored into many of these modifications.
Honestly, one of the Best schedules I have seen in years for our Series.
Previously we had a combined practice, that has now been given just to us. and another dedicated practice session has been added Sunday morning.
Full 100 mins of track time, for FV/F1200. with our own grids......

Et Tu Indy Car?
I decided to watch an Indy Car race for a change. I cranked up the DVR , settled back and hit play...And, Oh No...It's the Diffey!..Mr. Hysterical. I lasted about 20 minutes and had to bail. I tried it with out the sound and that almost works, but not quite. So has Diffey become the default announcer for motorsports?. F1, Indy Car. Think we could get NASCAR to steal him away? He has essentially ruined my ability to enjoy watching a race. Rats!

I purchased this car from Dave Palmer in July of 2012, you can still find his original ad from June of 2012 on this forum with all the details and pictures. I have since added a a no lift shift kit from the UK it was installed by pinnacle speed shop it works perfectly and has never had any issues what so ever. I have done a total of 16 sessions 30 minutes or less each. No offs or crashes , I am the only open wheel car at our track so I always ran alone. Pinnacle went over the car every couple of sessions and did the oil service. I love driving this car but I just don't have the time any more, grand children, vintage motocross racing, golf and travel with the family takes most of my time these days. When I emailed the seller about each item, he stated tha the engine cover is from a different model car, he said in an email after I received the car, that I should have inquired more specifically. If the ad says "recent rebuild," how does that need further inquiry about the condition of the floor pan, body panels, and rust?
He also said that the spare body is from a completely different car and needs mods and that I should have inquired about the specifics of the "complete spare body", Really????
Barry is a crook. Regardless of how he may have acted in the past in other transactions, there are major discrepancies with what he stated compared to what I received. There are other glaring out right lies regarding the shipping costs that were quoted; including emails that Barry claimed that he was quoting the broker as saying the agent in Houston would only charge $100, but the bill was almost $2000 and the broker said that he never told Barry the fee would only be $100. I believe that based upon the whole series of lies in his emails, that particular lie was to expediate shipping the car. Once he received his payment, what recourse would I have about his lies and the shipping costs?

I'm about to start repairing and preparing the Nose of my 76B so that I can make a mold. I have the nose with the long splitter.
I'd like to also make a mold with the shorter splitter and wonder if anyone has a short-splitter nose that they would be interested in selling.
Also does anyone have the various inserts that fit on to the nose upper outer corner, just in front of the front wheels? I'd like a set of those so I could make molds also.
I'd be happy to reciprocate with parts from the new molds when ready.
I'm also looking for a variety of March 76B parts including wheels, BDA to FT adaptor, gearbox rear cover and many others. Please contact me with anything you may have.

Soldering mesh filter back onto a drain plug
When my connecting rod let go, among the small bits of damage it did was to separate the wire mesh filter from the drain plug of my sump.
So how do I solder them back together?
What's the correct material? Is 4% silver, 96% tin sufficient?
What about flux? Full on, paint/daub on acid flux, or acid core, or just rosin?
Technique? I'm thinking that this can be done with a propane torch. Tin the plug, tin the mesh, bring them together and re-melt the solder?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Trailer tires
I have a 2010 United Trailers 20' enclosed car hauler that came with Trail Express ST205/75D15 tires, which have now developed some small cracks in the sidewalls. Two questions: (1) should the cracks be a cause for concern/immediate replacement of the tires; and (2) if so, do you have any suggestions on a good replacement tire? Related to the second question: are there any brands that should be avoided? Thanks for any information/suggestions.

The little yellow icons that tell you that sub forums have a new post are not working properly anymore it seems?
If i read a post the icon should go out it no longer does.

I am looking to get a timing stand picked up at the Watknis Glen Pro F2000 event and delivered to the Mid-Ohio Major. The stand is "foldable" and it's dimensions are 62" tall by ~59" wide (including ~10" for the wheels on one end), and ~7" thick.

Hey guys, might as well introduce myself. I'm Tommy Samuels, aka Too Busy and I like building stuff. Current project on the drawing board is F600 / FMod car based loosely on the Novablade.
I'll be looking in and asking a lot of questions on parts sourcing and fabrication.
My plan is to build something similar to the Novablade design but based on a 2009 ZX6R. If the engine doesn't get approved I guess I'll be a Formula S / AMod. Right now I'm in the drawing and parts collecting stage while I finish resto-modding my 64 Mini

Why isn't the Kawasaki ZX6R on the list?
Hey guys, I'm building a F600 / FMod car from scratch. I've long been a fan of Kawasaki and wondering why the ZX6R isn't on the approved engine list in the US? It's on the UK and NASA lists.
I know there was a string of 636 cc engines, but I'm planning around a 2009 FI 599 cc from a wrecked bike.

Rear suspension Q
I may need a new bushing(?) on the lower rear A arm of my 90 Van Diemen. So far, I can't find any info about what to expect when I take it apart. Any help?

First St. Louis Points Event
I think it went rather well. John and Tom were very happy with new tires on the Reynard. I thought John and Tom did remarkably well considering their lack of seat time in the car. They set the two fastest times of the day and both thought that with more experience they could take off another 3 seconds.

2010 Yamaha R1 motor for sale 1600 miles

I have my 2010 Yamaha R1 that went down on the right side 3 years ago, has been in storage, Motor is in PERFECT running condition, Paid it off and now I can part the bike. What better place than APEXSpeed. The bike had 1600+ miles. Headers still look new, Left engine cover got scuff marks and a small leak. I can sell it as a kit or motor+throttle body+harness+computer. Make me an offer. You will get a Notarized Bill of Sale from me. I am taking offers on the Engine Kit and will sell other parts on Ebay. Will post pictures in 3 days time. I can ship the motor via ForwardAir.

Van Diemen RF84 Slider
Would be a great candidate for a bike engine conversion, or could be restored to original spec. Bought this in boxes a couple of years ago, and it is so far down the list of projects, it will sit in my basement forever if I don’t sell.
Major parts that are not included: Engine, gearbox (uses a MK9), wheels, springs, steering wheel, tach. Front motor mount that i have is for the 2L Pinto, not the FF Kent. I believe everything else is there (not all parts are shown in the pics)
Chassis needs a couple of minor repairs; a couple of dings in the right rear outer rail (shown) that could be left as-is, and a rollbar extension that should be removed. Body is complete but rough.
Suspension is complete. Lower rear arms are rough, though. Carerra shocks. Rotors are all good, measure 6.9 – 7.0mm thick with no grooves. Calipers (LD19) and master cylinders will need attention from sitting for years. One rear upright has been repaired, looks like a decent job. Rear ARB cable is stuck. Hewland adapter (clearanced at the bottom) is included.
$1400US. Chassis #822. No log book, but some of its previous Canadian racing history is known. Please PM me for any additional info or pictures. Chassis is located in Ottawa, Ontario. Thanks,

Mechanical tach drive thingy
I'm looking for the little piece that bolts onto the end of the ford 1600 crank that drives the Smiths Mechanical Tach gearbox. Just wondering if anyone has that part after converting to electrical rev counter?
