WTT - Koni 8211 14-1/4" for shorter?

Not sure if trades are allowed on the forum, let me know if I broke any rules..



I have a set of steel bodied Koni 8211 B1 valving that are too long (14-1/4") for my application.

Does anyone have a set of the same that are shorter? I could use a pair closer to 12-1/2" (for my fronts) or 13-1/2" (for my rear).



I suppose if nobody has what I need, I may put them up for sale. I would rather trade if some are available.

FV for sale on Ebay

There was an old FV for sale on Ebay that had a few photos of the car lying in the dirt, stuffed with old parts and asking $2195. It looked like the front body section was from a Bobsy Vanguard, and the rest looked very tired. I asked if there was a log book and there was none. I made an offer for parts and was not successful... I just got a notice that the car sold for $1950. and the photos that were with the SOLD auction were not the photos of the car laying in the dirt. The photos show the car on four tires (with air) and all the parts laid out nice and neat, etc. etc.



So If you know the person or persons that bought the car, make sure they look over the car top to bottom. The car was sold out of Hanover PA...

Hi, quick question. What is the inside oil line diameter from a side mount pump to the tank. Also on the tank (round 16" high quick clean), are they 12 AN fittings? I am ordering fittings and don't want to get the wrong stuff. Thanks.

new shoes advice

I t seems that just when I get shoes that work for me the manufacturers decide to stop producing them and I have to start over. Sketchers made some work shoes that were acceptable with a suit, then they decided to change the leather and the sole and now, not so good.



On race shoes though - I've been using the standard old Simpson low tops for years. It appears though that they've decided to no longer make low tops. Replaced em' with Crow's, and sure enough - too wide for the footbox. I'm already stuffing my size 12 dogs into size 10 shoes.



So I was wondering what other "narrow" shoes guys are using these days in the footboxes of van diemens and the like. I can buy the old Simpson design in a high top, but I absolutely hate high tops unless I'm playing basketball (and really nobody makes a true high top for that sport any more).



G-force? RaceQuip? Can't say I want to spend $150 on Sparcos or OMPs

REPLAY lipstick cameras

Hi all,



so can anyone report if REPLAY has got there camera sorted out yet? I went through 3 of them so far, let the last one sit in bag for all last year, pulled it out now, the thing wont or doesn't hold a charge.



I have had nothing but grief with the things but man the picture is good! Clearly the one I have is pooched but you would think over the course of a couple of years they would have their stuff sorted. Really didn't want to go GO PRO (hence the email) but I know they at least seem to work and last. thanks for any input and Happy New Year, may 2015 be full of wins, great competition and safe racing for you all!

Low and behold, I run into Bruce MacInnes from my Nelson Ledges days 40+ year ago. I think that I only ran against him once, and needless to say that I was in the back of the pack, but I spectated a few nationals and witnessed the great battles between him and Dave W.



We spent a few minutes reminiscing about the glory days of FF.

Rear suspension design

Im asking here because you FB guys seem to have a lot of experience building cars similar to whatbim trying to build.



I've started drawing out the rear subframe for my car (bike engined with carbon tub). This is my first IRS car so I'm a little in the dark. I have a wheelbase of 102-103" I've taken some quick measurements off of a Formula Renault to get me in the ballpark, but I can't completely copy it because of differences in engines. I'm looking for answers to a few questions and possibly someone to run a few numbers thru a suspension program (or a link to a good free one). This is going to be a track day car, and if your worried about sharing information, you could PM me and I promise it will stay between us.



I have a pretty clean slate. With the engine I'm using, the side plates should be ~8" outside to outside. I also do have some axles and tripods that I'm planning to use. I'm building my own uprights, wishbones, etc



Questions:

#1. - how much camber gain should be designed into the rear suspension?

#2. - Where should the rear roll center be?

#3. - I'm going to make my own body work (diffuser too). I'm going to make the toe-bar part of the upper wishbone, but is there any other "aero" concerns I should know about??
