Quincy South Park karting video

This was probably shot in the late 80's at the South Park in Quincy, Illinois. This park had a series of roads just over 1 mile in length that were used to run an annual karting event that purportedly drew 10k spectators. Getting in and out was like the Indy 500 traffic. This is a relatively slow kart, probably a Yamaha as compared to the big 100 and 135 cc opens of the day. Starts were "LeMans" style and it was not unusual to start from both sides of the road facing the other row of karts. Fields of 50 were common; I recall some of the 4 cycle Briggs classes eclipsing 100! Notice the stone walls, high curbs, straw bale walls (you didn't want to know what was behind that) and elevation changes.
