F600 Challenge 2015 Rules



The current SCCA GCR will be the governing set of rules for the Formula 600 cars. However in the event of a running a non-SCCA event the Formula 600 Challenge’s rule changes will take precedence.



Only 600cc motorcycle powered cars meeting the current GCR rule set are eligible for the series.



Points will be awarded based on the total point accumulation for every race during the weekend. Double race weekend races will be added together to determine the weekend point total. The driver with the most points will be awarded the 24 points available towards the year end points fund. There will be no double point races in 2015. In the event of a tie, the fastest race lap during Sunday’s race will be the tie breaker. Points for the weekend will be awarded as follows:



1st - 24 points

2nd - 22 points

3rd - 20 points

4th - 18 points

5th - 16 points

6th - 14 points

7th - 12 points

8th - 11 points

9th - 10 points

10th - 9 points

11th - 8 points

12th - 7 points

13th - 6 points

14th - 5 points

15th - 4 points

16th - 3 points

17th - 2 points

18th - 1 point



Prize money distribution will be awarded based on overall weekend finishing position. Money will be disbursed as follows:



1st - 20 %

2nd - 17 %

3rd - 12 %

4th - 10 %

5th - 9 %

6th - 8 %

7th - 7 %

8th - 6 %

9th - 5 %

10th - 4 %

11th - 2 %



Tow fund money will be paid to all eligible entrants at an event. To qualify for the tow fund the car must be entered and must turn a lap during the weekend.



The Formula 600 Challenge Series consist of five (5) race weekends. To be eligible for the year- end prize money drivers MUST compete in four (4) event weekends. Failure to compete in four (4) event weekends will result in forfeiture of year end funds. The definition of “compete” for this purpose - Any driver who has entered an event weekend and turned a wheel on course. In the event of a failure eliminating a driver from competition they are still considered as eligible.



The Series Champion will be decided by the driver who has accumulated the most points during the Formula 600 Challenge Series. All prize money for the Formula 600 Challenge Series will be paid upon completion of The Formula 600 Challenge Series’ final event, the ARRC. Prize money will be distributed on the same percentage as stated above.



The Sportsmanship award will be voted on by all drivers and crew members in attendance at the ARRC. The Sportsmanship award may be awarded to a driver or crew member who has exemplified fellowship/support with competitors or series in a positive way. Those in attendance are allowed to cast only one vote. All votes will be collected throughout the event weekend. The winner of The Sportsmanship award will be announced during the closing ceremony.



The Hard Luck award is a traveling trophy given the driver who has had the worst luck during the series. This trophy too will be voted on by drivers and crew members in attendance at The ARRC. The winner, as previous winners have done, will add a broken part to the trophy from his dismal season prior to passing it onto the next winner. The winner of the Hard Luck award will be announced at the closing ceremony.



All contingency payouts will be per individual sponsors’ request.
